Greenspur Lost Whiskey Cabin

GreenSpur’s ‘Lost Whiskey Cabin’ is Concrete Brutalism in Miniature

Just an hour away from Washington, nestled on a slope that sits alongside the great Appalachian Trail, this striking concrete cabin by GreenSpur serves to provide some serious Brutalist style to its rural location. The ‘Lost Whiskey Cabin’, as it is known, looks out over 50 acres of protected public land with a cantilevered viewing platform and hammock that extends over the cliff.

Built using a concrete pre-fab construction, the modest cabin contains everything one might need for a weekend getaway, with an interior featuring a flip up bed that turns into a table and a wood burning stove. Explaining the inspiration behind the project, GreenSpur explains, “It’s about architecture, it’s about the art of gathering, it’s about turning our phones off, making a fire, pouring a drink and reconnecting with the simpler and more important things in life.”
