It’s pretty hard to ignore a floating fluorescent amoeba-shaped sculpture in the woods, isn’t it? Austrian artist Thomas Medicus‘ stained glass Amoeba is bound to attract a curious lot, luring an audience in with its glowing LED-illuminated form and strange shape. Upon closer inspection, the sculpture shows off intricate painted patterns on its body.

According to the artist: “By combining and abstracting visually significant characteristics also of other living forms the art piece points to the fascination about life as a phenomenon that is difficult to grasp.” If you like what you see here, head over to his website for more projects.
