Photographer Franck Bohbot returns to the pages of Plain with a new project that harks back to retro Southern Californian summers. Created in collaboration with photographer and skateboarder Sierra Prescott, the series peddles the warm, welcoming embrace of the over saturated, washed out colors of an afternoon in Silver Lake.
The series Afternoon Session is more than a collaboration between Bohbot and his ‘model’, it is a collaboration that ropes in the neighborhood itself as a key player in the images, making the most of its cinematic pedigree to add an iconic, timeless edge to the pictures. From dusty side alleys to midcentury houses, strip mall parking lots to neon signage, the vibe is unmistakably Los Angeles. See our past features on Bohbot’s work and visit his website.
