A Rural Australian Build Provides Space for a Home, Cooking School, and Boutique Farm

Sat alone on a plot all of its own, a six-minute drive from the nearby town of Daylesford, the multi-functioning Daylesford Long House by Partners Hill architects is a beautiful example of inclusive design that gives new definition to live/work space. The rural spot provides all the space needed for the building’s many facets to shine. Within the single 110-meter-long building, a boutique farm, cooking school, reception venue, and family home all find the necessary room to work.

Having fallen in love with the rural parcel of land and its epic views over Daylesford and Mt Franklin, couple Ronnen and Trace decided that it was the ideal place to create a new life together that set their home, business, and interest in food provenance within the parameters of a single dwelling, under one long roof. Split by timber and brick insertions at various intervals, the great expanse is divided into manageable spaces that serve each element of the couple’s life.
