Surrounded by views of Jackson, Wyoming’s Teton Mountains is Logan Pavilion, the family home of CLB Architects’ Design Principal Eric Logan. Built in 1997 on an aggressive four-month construction schedule, the home has adapted to the family’s needs over time and, ever-evolving, received a remodel in 2020.
Adopting the site’s vernacular, Logan Pavilion’s hay shed form and gabled roof accommodates four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Additional spaces, including an independent guest house and garage, came several years after. The recent remodel oversaw a new deck and siding; meanwhile the stains on its exterior walls — originally done with bleaching oil for a weathered-barn look — were adjusted for a tidier aesthetic. The roof’s original cedar shingles were swapped for a new metal roof, fulfilling the original design concept for the home.
Logan refers to the newest reiteration of his home as a “new black sweater.” Weathering gracefully over the years, Logan Pavilion has stood the test of time, while continuing to change.
