While the views from within a home are usually the attraction, it’s the views from the outside in, that makes this townhouse in Amsterdam special. Given a brief by the owners that placed prime importance on the storage and display of their beloved Jaguar motorcars, architects Bureau Fraai came up with a design that allows everyone to share in the sleek lines of the sports cars, presenting a garage with a view.
Along with the showroom storage, whose large windows give a full frontal view of the cars (stacked on top of each other using an electric lift), the architects built an extension to the owners’ townhouse, matching the black-clad car storage area with a new volume added to the top of the home.
