We’ve previously featured the Inception-esque work of Turkish photographer Aydin Büyüktas here, and we’re glad to see that he is back in action two years after his first series, conquering other landscapes — this time the America Southwest.

With the help of a drone, a 3D drafting software and Photoshop, Büyüktas presents Flatlands II, a mindbending collection of the empty highways, football fields, quarries or junkyards he encountered on his road trip through Texas, Arizona, Nevada and Southern California. Unlike Uri Geller’s spoons, there is no trickery in Flatlands II: Büyüktas put in long hours painstakingly stitching together his drone footage on Photoshop to create the sublime surreal images you see below.
