In its stunning transformation from an old house to a hip space for wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike, Autentista Wine Bar in Prague is a blend of traditional and cosmopolitan in every sense. Owners Bogdan Trojak and Antonin Suchanek sought out creative studio Formafatal to bring their vision to life: that of an inviting yet refined venue to enjoy not just the wine, but the architecture as well.
Beneath dramatic vaulted ceilings, every element is a thoughtful ode to the art of winemaking and the building’s history. With a focus on wine in its most basic form, the studio translate this purity through their use of non-pigmented steel sections, raw cement finishes and untouched joinery and fixtures. “By definition, a natural wine should be produced without any extra added ingredients and with respect for nature,” the design studio says. “The bar’s design stays true to these principles… all materials are presented in their original and pure form.”
From the impressive Moooi Meshmatic chandeliers to the night sky print by artist Janko Docekal emblazoned across the bar table, each detail is intentional and significant, coming together to offer patrons the ultimate wine tasting experience.
