How do you like your toast in the morning? We like ours with Emojis on. Well, not yet but we will, since the Toasteroid’s Kickstarter fund has successfully reached its target needed to create the ‘smartest toaster ever’. The question Toasteroid poses – and it’s a deep-thinker – is ‘why merely have toasted bread when you can hook your smart phone up to the toaster and let your imagination run wild, toasting anything from Emojis to the day’s weather forecast onto your bread? Why indeed. Built from die-cast aluminium and priced at $85, the idea for the product was conceived in 2014 and plans to begin mass production in May 2017, shipping in July 2017.
Could the Toasteroid be the future of toasters? Or will it just become next year’s comedy Christmas gift, pushed to the back of the cupboard and forgotten?
