279 Concept Studio is an Odessa-based practice bringing conceptual architecture and interior projects to life through CGI. The studio recently unveiled their latest conceptual project, The Mutis Hotel in Indonesia.

The studio experimented with different stylistic combinations for the project, ending up with a design very much inspired by the Japanese aesthetic. Taking the site’s geographic location and local vernacular into account, the hotel integrates nature into the core of the overall design. “One of the ideas of the project was to give people the opportunity to feel like a part of nature through location, natural materials, colors, art objects and the interaction of plants with the interiors and architecture,” says the studio.

Monumental elements feature throughout the hotel, from soaring arches that punctuate the outdoor pathways between buildings at regular intervals to the impressive circular stone structure flanking one end of the pool, picturesquely framing the surrounding mountain landscape. Using elegant restraint, the hotel rooms and living room areas are a study of expressive textures and custom details, envisioned with concrete walls applied with decorative plaster layers, stone bathrooms under open skylights, warm wood furnishings and lush textiles in natural muted tones. The hotel’s outdoor bar is built in the image of typical Japanese wooden façades, lit overhead by a multitude of rust-coloured decorative lamps

Embracing Asian concepts and Japanese minimalism, Mutis Hotel holds the promise of a relaxing Indonesian getaway. See more of 279 Concept Studio’s exciting renders on Behance and on Instagram.
