Located in Sydney, Australia, a family of five tasked CplusC Architectural Workshop to design a home that would keep them engaged and entertained in their own home when not out surfing at nearby Bondi Beach…. And from the looks of it, the architectural studio certainly delivered. Working around various constraints — its narrow site location and the accompanying privacy challenges — the architects unveiled Living Screen House, a fantastic home that ticked all the client’s wishes: indoor and outdoor spaces, sustainable and solar features, and lots of natural daylight.
Protecting the home’s privacy is an immense green wall dotted with custom planter beds. The ground floor is a long interconnected space featuring pockets of interesting areas for members of the family: the living room space, a small stone garden, an outdoor living and barbecue area, and a media room. A long and narrow lap pool, raised from the ground and visible from the living room path through a clear wall. Located on the second floor are the private bedrooms and bath, a retreat from the flurry of activity the lower level offers.
