A home for every budget – this is the ethos behind MODU, a modular housing system designed by London-based Morris + Company for Phäbb, an Argentinian company dedicated to prefabricated home solutions.
Consisting of 15 modular elements that can be assembled and rearranged according to the client’s wants and needs, MODU allows a wide variety of houses that go from simple homes to more massive, complex configurations.
The architecture studio created four design proposals that would showcase the modules’ possibilities: the simple, entry-level Dadu House, Surburban House, Beach House and Stack House. Clients can naturally opt for a specific material palette and finishings in response to the local context, giving them complete control over the look and feel of their own home, within their chosen budget. “At the core of this project is the desire to create a modular concept which is adaptable and flexible to the needs of the homeowner,” the studio say.
While Phäbb’s MODU is currently tailored to the South America, the company plans to explore the similar solutions for the North American housing market as well.
