Photographer Matthieu Bühler moved to Tokyo in 2016 and immediately began a series of personal projects inspired by the city. His Neon Dreams collection is an ongoing project that details his fascination with the duplicity of the city, a place with two faces that merge from night into day. He describes daylight Tokyo as a place of rushing bodies, streaming from place to place. The night is a different proposition, when the neon lights flick on and the streets take on a unique atmosphere. This project is the culmination of the photographer’s explorations after dark, the images hinting at the multitude of fields that inspire his work from cinema to contemporary graphic design

Alongside his personal projects, Bühler has created work for the likes of Huawei, Lunaris, and Samuel Alexander. See more from his portfolio here, and his latest on Instagram
