Following their pre-fabricated workspace fit for backyards, British studio and prefab specialists Koto are back with a more ambitious project, the Falcon House: a two-storey, black timber-clad modular holiday home in Cotswolds, UK.
Composed of two cabins stacked one on top of the other at an angle, Falcon House’s structural form is a sight to behold, yielding two triangular canopies that shade the ground floor and a similarly-shaped second floor terrace. Yet the studio flipped the conventional floor plan, appointing the two bedrooms on the ground level and the social spaces above it to maximise views of the surrounding landscape.
The interiors of the home were designed by the studio’s in-house interior design branch Koto Living to reflect an atmosphere of quiet luxury. “This is a house to slow down in, where spaces have been designed to contemplate and watch the leaves rustle in the trees, or to be social and embrace the joy of celebration with friends and family,” says the studio of the two-bedroom dwelling.
