Along the coastline of the Greek island Tinos, the Mirage House is built on a rocky terrain overlooking the Aegean sea with a particularly fascinating feature: it has an infinity pool for a roof. At first glance, one would think that a swimming pool was dropped on the hill from the sky. Only upon spotting the concrete staircase descending into the ground will you realize that a house actually lies beneath the pool, cleverly hidden from view. The unique dwelling by Kois Associated Architects was designed to accommodate the client’s major concerns – visibility and privacy. The open-air living room is shaded by the pool, offering a breathtaking view of the sea. The single-level, two-bedroom and two-bath home spans 198 square meters (2131 square feet), which we imagine to be cool during the summers thanks to the thermal insulation provided by the rooftop pool.
