In yet another sign that the work/home balance is likely to skew more towards the home, we feature another functional home studio that enables those with enough outdoor space to engineer their own commute… to the bottom of the garden. Created by Autonomous, the Work Pod is a sound-insulated, weatherproof structure that can be assembled by two people in the same time as the average working day (8 hours), slotting itself into that sweet spot between over-elaborate structures with a need for planning permission at one end of the market and draughty, glorified sheds at the other.
An integrated ventilation system and weatherproof humidity system keep it dry and fresh throughout the seasons and the Pod comes pre-wired and ready to go. The structure is built with a durable combination of plywood and glass and comes with a 98 square foot footprint that enables a range of uses beyond the home office or studio.
