Turning Boxes by furniture architect Hans Sandgren Jakobsen

The latest offering from the design studio of furniture architect Hans Sandgren Jakobsen has us asking: drawer or sculpture? From its sleek look and functional design, we say it’s definitely a little bit of both.

Turning Boxes is a set of 10 petite boxes made of American walnut and European maple. Designed as “a furniture solution with a pragmatic potential”, the boxes can be stacked one on top of the other, or taken apart if desired. When stacked, each drawer can rotate 360 degrees. A limited edition of 50 cabinets were manufactured by Aksel Kjersgaard A/S, known for their traditional Danish cabinetmaking and craftsmanship.
