As the son of craftsmen and artists, French designer Alexandre Chapelin of LA Table is no stranger to working with his hands, and his Lagoon series is a shining example of the creativity and talent he puts into his work. Using scrap materials such as pieces of wood, old motors and recycled materials, Chapelin brings them together to create these modern, visually-striking coffee tables.
The latest tables to come out of his atelier channel the soothing presence of the sea: uneven slices of marble mimic the sandy depths of a beach, and resin is poured over to complete the tabletop in blue gradients. With no two tables truly alike, Chapelin’s Lagoon tables brim wonderfully of soul and personality. See more of LA Table’s work here, or follow them on Facebook.
