Lovely Refurbishment of a Top Floor London Apartment by VINE Architecture Studio

It’s hard to believe that this top floor residence located in an apartment building in Mile End, London was in a bad state of disrepair before VINE Architecture Studio intervened. Refurbished and reconfigured to suit its clients’ needs, the minimalist flat features carefully re-thought spaces with distinctive character.

“We sought to rationalise the layout of the apartment while retaining the intersecting load-bearing masonry walls that subdivided the space into equal quarters which, in turn, defined the four living functions of washing, dining, relaxing and sleeping,” the studio explained. Multi-height flooring help demarcate various spaces from each other, while roof lights bring natural light into the home. White walls and light-coloured wood brighten up the space even further. From the living and dining area, a floor-to-ceiling sliding glass door opens up to a spacious outdoor terrace, connected to a second rooftop terrace via a bright yellow spiral staircase.
