Movement Dominates Yaroslav Danylchenko’s Dynamic Food Photography

From his studio in Kiev, Ukraine, Yaroslav Danylchenko creates bright and quirky visual narratives that revolve around tabletop, food and product photography. What was once a hobby eventually became a profession, and Danylchenko now shoots commercials, advertisements and editorials for various production and advertising agencies in Ukraine and worldwide.

Don’t expect any stoic still lifes; Danylchenko’s photography pops from pages and screens, a playful romp of movement and action. “Something in the photo must fly, drop, break, or smash, through post-production work,” says the artist. The element of motion shows his quest to take food photography further: It’s not an easy feat to pull off… and that’s why he’s doing it.

Danylchenko’s impressive client list includes Samsung, L’Oréal, Esquire, BBDO, Harper’s Bazaar and McDonald’s, to name a few. Below are our favourite picks from his personal and professional portfolio. Visit his website and follow him on Instagram.
