“All art forms feed off from each each other, and film is no different,” says Vugar Efendi, a young filmmaker hailing from Azerbaijan and a recent honors graduate in film production from the University of Winchester.
Putting artworks and movie stills side by side in the 2-part series Film Meets Art (Part 1, Part 2), Efendi shows just how much film culture draws inspiration from famous paintings. About Schmidt, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette and There Will Be Blood are just some of the films cited by Efendi.
With his passion for filmmaking, directing and photography, we’re excited to see Efendi’s future projects. Keep tabs on his upcoming work here, or follow him on Vimeo.
