RIBA Releases its List of Winners for British Buildings of the Year

One of the most prestigious architecture awards in the UK, the RIBA Best British Buildings list offers annual recognition of the best and brightest practices currently operating. Awards are offered to the buildings that the expert panel deem to have added a significant contribution to architecture. 

The winners include a varied list of buildings that fulfil a variety of uses, from commercial blocks to designer houses, places of worship to community centers. The buildings also vary dramatically in size, from a mega project like Hopkins Architects’ renovation of 100 Liverpool Street to Loader Monteith’s single story home, High Sunderland. 

Notable winners include Sands End Arts and Community Centre, winner of London’s Building of the Year, Lovedon Fields by HAB Housing Ltd, winner of the RIBA National Award, and The Parchment Works by Will Gamble Architects, a beautifully rustic extension to a grade II listed Victorian house, which also won a RIBA national award.
