Swedish photographer and director Mathias Sterner captures captures his surroundings with transcendent skill, his subjects transformed into objects of reverence by his use of light and shadow.
A sense of form and texture is a defining element in his works. Though his film and photography work spans various genres, his food photography in particular is a sight to behold. Dramatic and mysterious, cloaked in semi-darkness, each shot is bathed in a cinematic atmosphere deeply inspired by chiaroscuro in Baroque Art.
