NOTEL in Melbourne, Australia, is one of those alternative spaces that can convince you to take a sick leave and plan an impromptu holiday just to check it out. Comprised of six fully refurbished 1970s Airstreams, NOTEL takes glamping to another level — to the rooftop of James Fry’s 3-level carpark in Melbourne’s CDB, to be exact.
There’s a fair bit of mystery involved in renting a NOTEL room: a clue sent by sms, a code to be input. Don’t go expecting room service, concierges or in-house restaurants. Go for the chill factor of it all: a queen-sized bed, Wifi, Netflix, a no-charge minibar, a sweeping view of the city … and bragging rights to the coolest pad in town. Bookings are made 6 months in advance, so better book now.
