Living and working as a software engineer in New York for almost 7 years now, Michael Rabin documents his love-hate relationship with the city though his street photography.
Born and raised in Israel, Rabin copes with the inherent loneliness that comes with expatriation by snapping images of his daily encounters, in an attempt to connect with his surroundings. Rabin’s work hums with the irresistible energy emanated by the characters and places that collectively contribute to the city’s diversity. His images may be born out of a feeling of displacement. But looking through his wry, cheeky and sometimes poignant portrayal of his adopted city, it looks like he’s right where he belongs.
