In his ongoing series Landscapes, Peter Dawson gives us a glorious glimpse through the world through his lens. Known for his dynamic athletic and automotive photography for clients around the globe, the Los Angeles-based photographer reveals a quieter, almost spiritual approach to his art when it comes to his landscape work. “I am driven by channeling moments in the landscape when the discoverable meets that which can only be revealed; the mingling of the finite and the infinite,” he says.
Dawson captures sprawling deserts and lush forests through various seasons, sometimes revisiting the same ones in different conditions. A challenging method, but that’s just the way he prefers it. “My approach is to frequently operate right at the edge of storms and harsh environments, as this is where the mysterious, unrepeatable moments of beauty are encountered.”
To usher in the new decade, Dawson is launching a quarterly printed journal of his landscape photography – something we’re definitely looking forward to. Limited edition prints are also available by contacting him through his website and Instagram.
