The H House by G+ Architects is a problem-solving contemporary family home poised in the built up town of Vung Tu, Vietnam. Taking over a slim parcel of land in a typical row of buildings in which residents are all sandwiched close to one another with little space either at the front or the back, the home used an open brick design that enables it to welcome in the outside without forgoing a sense of privacy and security.  With houses facing each other, most urban residents here are loathe to open their windows or use their balconies regularly, which is where the screening of the stylish brick façade works so well. Fresh air, light, and ambiance filters through the gaps, giving the homeowners of the H House the privacy to enjoy their balconies.

Within the brick shell, a central, utilitarian iron staircase delivers residents to each of the four staggered levels, rising upwards through an open atrium. The metalwork and concrete are softened by open gardens and planters carefully placed on each floor.
