As if one Frank Lloyd Wright house wasn’t enough of a lure, this new listing in Michigan offers two for the fine price of $4.5m. Located in Kalamazoo, the Usonian homes come as a pair, forming part of the only neighborhood conceived by Wright (who designed two other houses nearby). The houses in question are the Samuel & Dorothy Epstein House and the Eric & Pat Pratt House, each a classic example of Wright’s work and largely in its original state. The efficient use of space, open plan layout, and plentiful natural light are all markers of the architect’s Usonian philosophy.
Both homes feature around 2,000 square feet of living space over one level and the current owners have preserved the original floors, built-in furniture, and clerestory windows to offer the double-package as a fine example of Wright’s work in the way he designed it.
