We can’t help but marvel at the fantastic works of UK illustrator Sam Falconer. Heavily inspired by his love for science and his “attempts to appreciate our tiny place in the cosmos”, his paintings and digital collages treat us to bustling landscapes in intricate detail, which pull off ‘surreal’ and ‘objective’ at the same time.
In Scientific Greats, Falconer creates collages of the lives and achievements of Marie Curie, Alan Turing and Isaac Newton amongst others in twelve digitally-illustrated portraits.
Falconer’s works have been featured in various science and tech publications (New Scientist, The Royal Society of Chemistry and Scientific American), as well as in British GQ, Wired, The Times, The Washington Post and Variety. Prints can be ordered via his website.
