A Bulgarian architect and keen photographer, Dimitar Karanikolov combines his two passions in his series on the buildings of Uzbekistan. Better known for his aerial photography, in this series he shoots from the ground, capturing some incredible shots of the Uzbek architecture head on. Led by a passion for travel, Karanikolov has ventured around the world from Mexico to Sicily, this time landing in the cities of Samarkand and Bukhara.
Shooting two of the oldest inhabited cities in Central Asia, destinations with Silk Road heritage, Karanikolov captured the magnificent, awe-inspiring buildings that remain in all their glory.
