Fullerenes are carbon molecule compounds made up of rough spheres that have twelve pentagonal and a number of hexagonal faces, much like a soccer ball. Arranged in a mesh-like or cylindrical pattern, the discovery of these structures are fairly new, but it’s already made its way into mainstream recognition by visualizing nanotechnology in sci-fi and superhero movies.
Designer Syvatoslav Zbroy, on the other hand, has adapted this structure into a comfy, multi-functional lounge chair. Designed for Odesd2, Buckyball is made of six spherical structures which are arranged in such a way that makes the chair stable any way you turn it — and can also be tilted to make room for more than one.
Each sphere has an air-filled chamber, framed by a PVC structure with the addition of silicone. The covers are made of microshenyl with Easy Clean technology, and its anti-explosion frame protects the chair from dirt and damage, making it ideal for both a relaxing and adaptable office lounge chair, or a comfortable and unforgettable addition to your modern living quarters.
