The Balnarring Retreat in Australia by Branch Studio Architects is a purposefully lo-fi getaway designed to slow down even the most hyperactive of minds. Built around the idea of retreat, this space is a slow building for slow living. Favouring craftsmanship over technology, each of the walls were designed to fold, open and close by hand, aiming to bridge a connection between the inhabitant and the space. And its location is nothing less than idyllic: set in the midst of nature, with tranquil views of the lake and forest through large bay windows, this amazing home fully embodies the idea of slowing down.
