Every artist needs a break from their constant stream of work, and Sandro Tatinashvili, a graphic artist from Tbilisi, Georgia, is no exception. Always involved in creative pursuits ranging from animation, product renders, poster art or game environment rendering, he still makes time to indulge in personal projects.
Ambient Animations is one such project created during his down-time: A series of GIFs that plunge us into fantastical environments that carry both old-school and futuristic ambiances. They’re reminiscent of Hayao Miyazaki’s crafted worlds at times; others, a film noir scenario. Speaking about the project, the artist explains that he wanted to “take a break from game art and normal map-baking stuff, so I made a bunch of small animated scenes.” Now if only we were all this productive with our free time…
