In revealing his discovery of a passion for photography after stumbling on the medium as a way of revealing himself, Adeolu Osibodu’s closeup series of hands, captured in an array of clasped, folded, and pressed poses speaks to that sense of communication first utilised when picking up a camera. The hands tell many tales, communicating in tandem as we speak and in Osibodu’s series, ‘A Different Kind of Handshake’, the expressive qualities of our most useful extremities are under the focus.
Bathed in light and shadow, lines and wrinkles exposed, tension revealed, the collection of hands represents a beautiful depiction of the human form, which Osibodu captures so well. Born in Lagos in 1997, Osibodu creates personal, fine art photography alongside commercial work for clients including CNN and Adobe. See more of his work here.
