Perched above the landscape on Denmark’s Ordrup Næs outcrop, this 1968 cabin represents a stunning expression of Scandinavian modernism, its design remarkably contemporary more than half a century on. Raised above the terrain, faced to the south and lined with large windows, the two-storey home is flooded with epic views of the surrounding landscape. Those big windows track the sun from morning to evening, framing vistas of the open waters that extend to the south and sights of the forest to the north. Mature fir trees wrap the site, offering privacy without blocking light. 

Inside, the original layout has been carefully preserved. The upper floor unfolds as a sequence of generous living spaces, where two lounges flow directly into a functional kitchen, an example of open plan living that was way ahead of its time. A master bedroom completes the upper level, while downstairs, two large guest rooms each have their own bathrooms and open directly onto a sheltered courtyard. Despite its size – it has capacity to sleep over 10 people – the house retains an easy intimacy, with various volumes open yet partitioned in certain places to achieve a sense of closeness.
