London’s Lina Stores Goes Big On an Architecturally Charming New Shoreditch Space

Lina Stores’ London expansion by A-nrd Studio shows no signs of slowing down, with the Italian deli/bistro opening its 9th outpost in the city in Shoreditch. The deli has been dropped for this incarnation, with a restaurant and bar taking over an old Victorian-era bank, transformed by A-nrd Studio into a grand, luxurious space over two floors. Blending heritage with the brand’s signature pistachio-green aesthetic, the space features Guatemalan green marble, jacquard velvet banquettes, and original mosaic floors that were uncovered and restored during the renovation. Further original architectural details were uncovered and restored throughout the design, with new elements harking back to the classic era of grand European brasseries that the building evokes. Those touches include bold globe lighting, steel table lamps, and classic bentwood chairs.

The 180-seat restaurant features a wall-to-wall bar, an open kitchen with counter seating, and a private dining room tucked behind an arched timber door. Hidden below, the subterranean Bar Lina offers a moody contrast to the fresh palette above, a space designed for night owls. Wrapped in burgundy tones, the subterranean cocktail lounge is all about 1970s Italian glamour with Rosso Levanto marble, plush chenille banquettes, and a private booth hidden behind the original steel vault door. Pasta up top, Campari cocktails below…
